This is Brian posting today. This video is a mother’s day surprise for my lovely and wonderful wife and Josiah & Autumn’s amazing mother. It’s a look back of the past 20 fantastic months of parenthood for us.
We just want to say that we love you Crystal and we think you are awesome!

It is sad that I would think that Autumn taking a bath is an occasion for pictures but she is a baby and doesn’t get dirty enough for a full bath very often and until now she always screams about being laid down in water. Now that she can sit up in her tub she loves it!

Before (after devouring an organic teething biscuit from her Easter basket)

After!
So for the past two days my family has been renting a cabin out at Lake Claiborne and they invited me to come hang out and relax with them. At first I thought I might not with all I had going on but I went one day for a few hours and the kids and i had so much fun (which gave Brian a quiet house to work in) that I ended up back out there the next day for more.
Both my clients still got all the images edited in less than 24 hours as I wanted to keep everything up to date so I could truly relax. It was incentive to work really hard to get them out!
Anyways, we had lot of fun, although the water was still to cold to swim. The fresh air, sun, and family sure did us all some good!

These were from April 3rd and they were lost in a folder with images from a photo shoot so I forgot to blog them. Josiah has gotten to be quite the little man. He loves to be outdoors and is now asking to go to my mom’s (Grandma’s or rather “maaaamaaaaa”) house everyday to see “nini,” his Aunt Nicole (who is the funnest aunt in the world for him) and “mo-mo”, their dog Gizmo.
Thank you Nicole for what a big help you are to me and what a wondeful little Aunt you are to Josiah. You are his favorite person I am quite sure!

“Nini”

This one was cropped rather awkwardly so as not to show off his stuff to the world, although if you have been to our house you probably saw it already!

Cutie.
Today we went on an outing to Monroe as a family. Brian had some business to take care of and we went thrift store shopping! Josiah came home with another sought after Blue’s Clues VHS tape. We are trying to collect all the “Steve” episodes on Blue’s Clues, because its fun to hunt for them and because we all love them! Many of the VHS episodes were never put on DVD so that is part of the fun in finding them. Anyways, Autumn came home with two awesome 1970’s baby outfits that look to be handmade.
After the kids went to bed and while Brian was working I did a little sewing and turned a not so cute (sorry Gran, but I just didn’t like it!) bubble pant suit into a very cute summer dress, and I made two onesie dresses out of old onesies left over from Josiah. This came about because when putting up our boy clothes to pass on after finding out we were pregnant with Autumn, I pulled out some of what I though were the gender-neutral clothes for Autumn to wear. Unfortunately Autumn still has short hair and looks just like her brother as a baby so gender-neutral for her means everyone at the grocery store tells me what cute boys I have…….parenting fail. So to dress these onesies up I added skirts using this tutorial, but without the elastic (I just basted and gathered instead).
Here is Autumn sporting her thrift store finds!

My altered version. See how much better this is?

What had to go.

CareBears onesie dress. I know its a little crooked, but is was my first time.

Our Alma Matter.

To make that is. Today I pulled out all my fabric scraps from other projects and started making pillow case dresses. I only accomplished one before one of the kids woke up from naps but here it is.

This was taken on April 13th out in the yard, Autumn loves the camera.

My mom and family go to church at Emmanuel Baptist Church which is the church conveniently located out our front door. She invited us to their Easter egg hunt the weekend after our church’s for sandwiches games and egg hunting. It was so fun to spend time with the family!

Easter festivities began with the preschool Easter egg hunt at our church on April 5th. Josiah and his friends (including Lainey K, pictured below) had a blast and Mrs. Gwen read them the story of the first Easter.
